About the Role
We are seeking responsible, energetic, and highly dependable Camp Counselors to join our team for Summer 2025. This role is physically and mentally demanding, requiring individuals who can keep up with active children, manage group dynamics, and ensure safety during all activities, including field trips, playground outings, and hands-on cooking/baking tutorials. If you are not comfortable working outdoors, leading group activities, handling minor emergencies, or enforcing camp rules, this role may not be a good fit.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, lead, and actively participate in daily activities, including arts, STEM, outdoor play, and field trips.
Ensure safety and engagement during excursions to playgrounds, museums, nature parks, and other off-site locations.
Assist and instruct campers in basic cooking and baking tutorials, maintaining a safe and organized kitchen environment.
Follow all food handling safety regulations while leading cooking/baking activities.
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive camp environment for all children.
Monitor camper behavior, resolve conflicts in a professional manner, and enforce camp rules consistently.
Engage in physical activities such as running, lifting, setting up equipment, and standing for extended periods.
Maintain open communication with camp leadership, fellow counselors, and parents as needed.
Administer basic first aid and respond appropriately to minor injuries or medical situations.
Minimum Qualifications (Do Not Apply If You Do Not Meet These Requirements)
Must be at least 21 years old.
Previous experience working with children (e.g., summer camp, daycare, teaching, coaching, babysitting).
Comfortable supervising groups in outdoor and off-site settings (field trips, nature walks, playgrounds).
Ability to lead hands-on activities, including arts, STEM, and basic cooking/baking lessons.
Washington State Food Handler’s Permit (or willingness to obtain before camp starts).
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Physically active – must be able to stand for long periods, run, lift at least 25 lbs, and engage in outdoor activities.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage groups of children effectively.
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts).
Pass a background check – any history of misconduct or inability to provide references will result in disqualification.
Commitment to full camp season and mandatory pre-camp training sessions.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required, but a Plus)
Experience leading field trips, youth sports, or large group activities.
Background in child development, education, or recreation.
Familiarity with food safety and basic culinary skills.
Previous wilderness or outdoor leadership experience.
