About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Camp Director to lead our summer camp operations. The Camp Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of camp programming, staff management, safety compliance, and overall camper experience. The ideal candidate is a leader who is passionate about youth development and has a strong background in camp.

Key Responsibilities
Camp Leadership & Program Management
Develop and oversee daily camp schedules, field trips, outdoor activities, and hands-on learning experiences.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all campers and staff.
Supervise camp counselors, activity leaders, and volunteers.
Camper Engagement & Activity Supervision
Lead and coordinate off-site field trips (museums, nature parks, cultural centers, etc.).
Oversee playground activities and ensure safety compliance.
Organize and facilitate cooking/baking tutorials with campers, adhering to food safety guidelines.
Health, Safety, & Risk Management
Enforce all camp policies, emergency procedures, and risk management protocols.
Ensure compliance with state regulations for child safety and food handling.
Staff Management & Parent Communication
Recruit, train, and manage camp counselors and activity instructors.
Serve as the main point of contact for parents and guardians, providing updates and addressing concerns.
Important: Candidates Must Meet ALL Minimum Qualifications to Apply. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in a leadership role managing a summer camp, school program, or youth organization.
Certifications: Valid CPR & First Aid certification (or willing to obtain before camp starts).
Food Handling Permit: A Washington State Food Handler's Card may be required for overseeing cooking/baking activities (must obtain if hired).
Physical Ability: Able to actively supervise children during field trips, playground activities, and cooking sessions.
Transportation & Field Trips: Experience coordinating and supervising off-site field trips with children, including transportation logistics and safety protocols.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, child development, hospitality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Leadership & Safety: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and risk management skills; ability to enforce safety and emergency procedures at all times.
Availability: Must be available full-time for the entire summer session, plus 2 weeks prior for planning and training.
Background Check: Candidates must pass a criminal background check and provide two professional references.
Bonus Qualifications (Preferred but Not Required)
Experience in STEAM or cultural arts programming for children.
Certification in lifeguarding or additional safety training.
Ability to fundraise or secure sponsorships for camp programs.
